The first Wingate Inn ® hotel was opened in 1996. In 2007, the Wingate Inn brand was aligned with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts® and changed its name to Wingate® by Wyndham. Wingate by Wyndham properties are all-new construction hotels, with all-inclusive pricing and standard amenities and were designed with input from seasoned traveler, travel agents and hotel developers to be the premier upper mid-market limited service business hotel. Today there are nearly 160 hotels open and under development in the U.S. and Canada.

Wingate by Wyndham is a part of the Wyndham Hotel Group.
